It was fun galore when the Royal Spry College, a co-education secondary school with international standard held it second annual inter-house sports competition.
The school premises where the event took place was filled to brim as parents, guardians, community leaders, students and pupils from other secondary and primary schools gathered to participate in the competition.
The event chaired by a renown educationist, Associate Prof. Mobolaji Oshodi, a retired principal lecturer now turned agricultural entrepreneur. Mr. Oshodi could not hide his joy over what he described as unprecedented, having seen the colourful sporting events showcased during the competition. He eulogised the proprietor of the school, Prince Olawale Adesina for organising such event which he said was beyond what he used to participate in when he was a student of one the best secondary school in Nigeria, The Kings College. He confessed that the event put together by royal Spry College was unprecedented and surpasses what was obtainable in Kings College, where he passed out many decades ago
He, however, encouraged the proprietor to maintain the standard and solid foundation in which he has pioneered the college.
Speaking at the event, was the proprietor of the School. He thanked all the students, parents, guardians, invited guests for coming en-masse to the event. He opined that despite academic excellence recorded by the college in just 2 years of its establishment; the school is poised to fetch out talents, especially in sports that will be capable of representing the country in future.
"Educating students is beyond academic excellence alone, a good educator should be able to instil morals and help to discover talents inherent in any child. There is no child without a talent, most of these talents are hidden, but in Royal Spry College, our teachers are trained not to just impart knowledge that will enhance academic excellence, but to also instil morals and help to identify, nurture and develop talents", Adesina said.
Adesina however, urged parents and guardians to endeavour to promptly pay the schools fees of the wards, as this will help the school to always bring the best out of the student. He thanked all for coming to the event.
