A slide amendment has been made by the PDP to it earlier decision to suspend the national convention holding at Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital

We earlier reported that the party has postponed the planned election. But new development from the convention ground in PH suggests that the party chief after a close door meeting has redecided that the convention should hold as planned, but the election of the national officers remains postponed till the next two months.

A caretaker committee will be selected either to take charge of the party till the convention holds in two months time, our source says. Our source informed us that a member each shall be selected from the six geo-political regions of the nation.

As at when filing this report, former Senator Iyiola Omisore has been selected to represent the Southwest region.

Meanwhile, Prof Jerry Gana faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, is currently holding it own version of PDP convention, where national leaders will be lected.

A court order has earlier been issued barring the convention planned to be held by the Ali Modu Sheriff led National Working Committee.
