The announcement of a new handler for the Super Eagles of Nigeria might just be the elixir for the dreams of several talented Nigerian footballers in the diaspora to don the national jersey.
The latest to express their desires are the Iloka brothers, who are based in the USA. They are Chidiebere Iloka,, Obinna Iloka, and Precious Iloka,, who play as goalkeeper, midfielder and attacker, respectively.
The trio who presently play college football have continued to catch the attentions of soccer scouts and particularly, the officials of USA Soccer Federation, with their impressive performances week in and out, have however, shunned the offers to dump Nigeria.
Speaking from their USA base, Obinna Iloka, disclosed that it is their desire and that of their family to play for Nigeria. And no amount of pressures would sway them to do otherwise.
"We want to play for Nigeria, which is our country, "the lanky lad stated. "Thank God, a new coach has been appointed for the national team and we certainly hope he would give every player, both home and the diaspora, a chance to have a trial with the team," he enthused confidently.
